How long have you been deejaying?
My first real gig was an art opening for artist, Nick Kuszyk, in 1998. It was an all go-go set on all go-go vinyl. So, 23 years. Yikes! Throughout that time, I’ve gone through the ranks, eventually deejaying professionally full time at various residencies in Richmond and at Red Bull events. After becoming a father, I’ve cut back on the nightlife events, but still love deejaying special events and weddings.

How many weddings do you do a year?
I’ll DJ roughly 15-25 weddings a year. Mostly in the Richmond and Charlottesville areas. Occasionally in Hampton Roads, Fredericksburg, and back home in Northern Virginia and DC.

How would you describe your style?
Eclectic. I’m a product of my environment. Having two older sisters that grew up in the 80’s in DC, I was exposed to a lot of different genres. Even though I was attracted to hip-hop, go-go, punk, and hardcore, I still have a deep appreciation for everything else. My bread and butter is an open format where I can go off in different directions, based on the crowd. But deejaying for guests that just want to dance to feel good music is always the most fun for me.

What kind of equipment do you use? / Do you have all of the needed equipment?
I learned to DJ on vinyl and 1200s, which I still have. But I’m currently using the Pioneer DDJ-REV7 DJ controller and MacBook Pro. I also have a separate PA system for ceremonies and cocktail hours. Check out my full equipment list here.

Do you offer any uplighting or dance floor lights?
Yes! I am happy to help execute your and/or coordinator’s lighting vision for your reception for an additional cost.

How do you handle requests?
Leading up to the big day, I work with my clients to curate a unique soundtrack so no two song lists are the same for any two clients. Night of, for requests from your guests, I accept requests and do my best to get to them, as long as they work within the vibe we’re in.

Will you be the DJ at our wedding?
Yes! You won’t be paired up from a roster of DJs. What you see is what you get, so you’ll have a direct point of contact which includes my mobile number.

What if you suddenly become unavailable for our wedding?
This has <knock on wood> never happened. But if something tragic occurs and I am no longer available to DJ your event, I have a trusted network of DJs that can fill into my place. DJs that have worked weddings and special events before. And because our preparation is extensive, hand offs can be seamless.

Do you have any photos of your setup?
Absolutely. Please see below.
